At the time that we made this documentary, Robbie Williams was probably the biggest solo artist in the UK, and the television stations were falling over themselves to feature him. I was approached to make a documentary on Robbie as a ‘video artist,’ and how that form had such an impact on his popularity. Aside from Robbie himself, we also interviewed those who had directed his videos, as well as a number of television presenters who had watched Robbie from his days in Take That to his then position as the ‘nations favourite pop star’.
